Let's Go Fishing!

Darling vintage and very well modeled, all bisque, 12" tall, sockethead, Gebruder Heubach, "Whistler" boy doll, marked with only the (incised) square Heubach signature with the number 5 above it and small 74 to the right as shown on page 101, "Blue Book", 16th edition-Foulke. This wonderfully modeled boy has molded and painted, blond curly hair, intaglio painted blue eyes glancing to the side and an open, "whistling" mouth. He has a swivel neck and double-eyelid lines, single-stroke brows and soft coloring and jointed, lined sockets at his shoulders and hips with well modeled hands and ears. He wears an old-fashioned type, two-piece, blue & white cotton,  sailor suit with wide sailor collar,  black stockings and shoes and holds his (removable) wooden fishing rod with fish and woven creel in one hand. He is in excellent condition, complete with wrist tag: RJ Dolls/"Boys and their Toys" series/Heubach Whistler Repro/for/Les Bebe's Doll Club of SJ.  Probably made during 2004, from an original German, Heubach doll mold, there are some faint initials of the artist. He has no damages, no cracks, hairlines or repairs, no stains or fading and will make a great addition to any vintage or all bisque doll collection. Famous antique, "Whistler", fishing boy framed print and his antique Googly friend are not included. You might want to make a copy of this print to display with him.  (loc. 20)
