1959 and 1966
The 1959 Washington Redskins Highlights (black and white) plus the 1966 Redskins highlight film "The Joy Of It All" (color) have now both been put on one 55-minute DVD for nostalgic viewing!
First seen is the '59 Redskin highlights, showing the big games and players of the '59 season (3-9 record under coach Mike Nixon). After a loss to the Chicago Cardinals at Soldier Field to open the season, the Redskins win their next two games. But they only win one more after that all season, an exciting 27-24 upset of the World Champion Colts at old Griffith Stadium. Redskin players seen on this DVD include quarterbacks Eddie LeBaron and Ralph Guglielmi, running backs Dick James, Dick Haley, Don Bosseler, Ed Sutton, Jim Podoley, and Johnny Olszewski, who rushes for a new Redskin record 190 yards vs the Browns. Ends Bill Anderson and Joe Walton, kicker Sam Baker, and defensive players Ed Meadows, Don Churchwell, Tommy Braatz, Bob Toneff, and Ralph Felton are all shown in action on this DVD as well as other Redskin players. Players shown on other clubs vs Washington include John David Crow, Bobby Joe Conrad, and Woodley Lewis of the Cardinals, Bobby Layne and Jimmy Orr of the Steelers, Norm Van Brocklin and Tommy McDonald of the Eagles, Bobby Mitchell of the Browns, Johnny Unitas and Lenny Moore of Baltimore, and New York Giants Charley Connerly, Frank Gifford, Kyle Rote and Alex Webster.

Also included on this DVD is the 1966 Redskins color highlight film, "The Joy Of It All". New head coach Otto Graham improved the Redskins to a 7-7 record in '66, emphasizing the passing game to offset a so-so running attack. Behind strong-armed QB Sonny Jurgensen the Redskins could put points on the board, and included on this film are highlights of the famous 72-41 highest scoring game in NFL history!
