  • Description : It is called Xuanwu(玄武). In ancient China, the sky was thought to consist of twenty-eight constellations. East, South, West and North, each is composed of seven constellations. Each seven constellations are represented by an animal image. Xuanwu (玄武) is a general term for the seven constellations of North, its animal image is tortoise plus snake. It symbolizes the endless reproduction of life, longevity and good weather. Moreover, in Taoism, it is the God of the Northern Sky.
