Beautiful, large 23" tall, outstanding model by Alt, Beck & Gottschalck, Germany, c.1870, unglazed bisque (parian) shoulderhead child doll, incised: 890 # 10 on the back edge of her deeply molded shoulderplate with heavily molded, thick blond curly hair completely covering her ears (see page 48, 12th Blue Book for photo of similar hairstyle, although her soft finish makes her much prettier). She has big blue painted eyes, molded eyelids, double lid lines, nostril marks,closed mouth with divider line, lovely blush, deeply molded shoulders and breasts, homemade stuffed, cloth body with cloth limbs and shaped hands and feet. She wears a lovely antique, black flower printed, fitted gown with lined bodice and lots of antique lace and jet buttons (probably more suited to a more mature looking doll) and charming, child-like, antique dusty rose flannel breeches. She is in excellent condition with no damages, chips or hairlines, no repairs or stains and no odors as she is from a smoke free home. She is a heavy and very sturdy doll that will look lovely in an antique child's chair or small rocker. (loc 37) Other dolls in last few photos are not included and each listed separately.
