ESTATE FRESH!

1924 Prohibition Memorabilia - "Intent" Registration for Production 200 Gallons Non Cider Fruit Juices & Cabinet Photograph!

I have been collecting/dealing in Antiques and Collectibles for well over 45 years. Most of the treasures that I acquire are direct from estates or houses. Over the time that I have been been doing this I have ended up setting aside items that were either of specific interest to me or that I felt were especially "unique and eclectic". This has ended up with my having a rather extensive "personal" collection. I am now at a point in my life that I have to limit this addiction and in fact actually downsize my "collection(s)!" I suggest that you consider adding me to your list of sellers that you follow as I will be offering many "decommissioned" treasures as well as the extensive new acquisitions that I continue to pursue in my semi-retirement!

Prohibition was a constitutional ban on the production, importation, transportation, and sale of alcoholic beverages in the united states from 1920 to 1933. It was an interesting period in the history of the United States which saw the rise of bootlegging, speakeasies, and "bathtub gin"!

This wonderful lot consists of:
  • an approximately 9" x 7" cabinet card approximate 6 1/2" x 4 3/4" photograph of two gentlemen enjoying their home brew
  • an formal intent notification in its original envelope dated October 10, 1924
I believe that the cabinet card photograph is actually from the 1890's, considerably earlier than prohibition. However, they both came out of the same estate and are just perfect together, ie a typical "old country" family pre and during prohibition! I would tend to believe that the non cider fruit juice would be made from grapes which most likely "expectantly ferment over time!

The cabinet card photograph does have some wear and the envelope is stained on the front (must have gotten in the way of production of the juice). Please super size the listing images to view the overall condition in detail!
