Here is a rare hardcover book entitled RECLAMATION PROJECT DATA by the U.S. Dept of the Interior J A Krug Sectretary & Michael W Straus, Commissioner. Presenting historical, statistical, and technical information on projects. Dated 1948. Loaded with illustrations and maps. The Bureau of Reclamation is best known for its great dams and powerplants. They stand astride the major rivers of the American West, monuments to a nation’s ingenuity and spirit of enterprise. C. Austin, Weber River, Yakima and Yuma. There is a pocket in the back that should contain Appendix I & II, but the second one dealing with finances is missing. Appendix I is Area of Irrigable Lands and Crop Returns. Size is about 10" by 12", 489 pgs. Cracked hinges, but binding is holding. General light wear and cover discoloration. A tear and small piece torn out of the Forward page. Someone tore out a large piece on the rear blank flyleaf. It has an odd binding with what looks like it might have been planned to be a thicker book with more pages as in the back there are stubs of many more pages. AT FIRST I THOUGHT PAGES WERE MISSING, BUT ALL PAGES ARE ACCOUNTED FOR ACCORDING TO THE TABLE OF CONTENTS. I think that contributed to the cracked hinges. (easily helped by gluing a paper hinge reinforcement where it's cracking). A word about shipping: shipping involves a lot more than postage or UPS charges. We have labels, boxes, packing materials and a "longer than most" trip to the Post Office or UPS. We are very rural and the post office and UPS will not pick up our packages. So we have 10 miles every shipping day and if a buyer pays, we ship IMMEDIATELY, even if their package is the ONLY one to be shipped. We do not over charge for shipping, but sometimes if you are a lot closer than we estimated your shipping expense may be less.
