GUARANTEED AUTHENTIC DERBY HAS BEEN REDESIGNED INTO FOUR DISTINCT BEANIES. THE FIRST, LIMITED PRODUCTION VERSION FEATURES A THIN YARD MANE AND TAIL AND THE THIRD GENERATION HANG TAGS. THE SECOND VERSION FEATURES THICKER YARN ON THE MANE AND TAIL: THE THIRD HAS A WHITE STAR ON THE FOREHEAD AND HAS FIFTH GENERATION TAGS ONLY. THE MOST RECENT DERBY HAS FUZZY MANE AND TAIL SIMILAR TO ROARY THE LION'S MANE.

 SWING TAG 4TH GENERATION VERSION 4
These 4th generation heart tags were introduced during the Spring of 1996. These tags are the same size and shape as the third version heart tag, but a yellow star that says "BEANIE ORIGINAL BABY" was added. The "Ty" was shrunk a little and the gold trim was removed from the "Ty" lettering.

The inside right of the tag changed some. The Beanies name is now followed by "TM" and the Style number, and Ty added the Beanies birthday and a poem. Ty also added their website address.

The back of the tag now says "For ages 3 and up", followed by "Surface Wash."

There are 6 different variations of the 4th generation tag!
Version 4 is probably the most popular, these are made in China and have the Ty Deutschland address on them.

 

TUSH TAG 4TH GENERATION

The 4th generation added a small red star to the top left of the heart. In between the process of changing from the 3rd generation to the 4th generation, the star was initially on a clear sticker until in the later 4th generation tush tags, it was eventually printed straight on to the tag. This was the only alteration to this generation of tush tag.

The copyright dates on this generation can either be 1993, 1995 or 1996. It will either say “HANDMADE IN CHINA” or “HANDMADE IN KOREA” on the tag.
