1993 marks the 40 years anniversary of first the Playboy Magazines' print. There a PLAYBOY trading card collection released since.

This PLAYBOY TRADING CARD COLLECTION depicts the centerfold covers and playmates pictorials. The collection was released in 12 different sets. Each set covers only one particular month's cover girls and playmates in the past 40 years. For example, January Edition covers all the cover girls and playmates of the past 40 years.

The 12 card sets are January to December Edition. Each edition has a base set of 120 cards + 3 Checklist cards + 6 Preview cards (except December no preview cards).

In each month's edition, there are limited edition chase cards randomly inserted in the packs. Typically are:

PLAYMATE OF THE YEAR (1 person with 6 different cards, 1PY--6 PY)

3 CELEBRITY ( Each celebrity has 3 cards).

Total 15 chase cards in each series EXCEPT JANUARY only has 2 celebrities.
