His head turned by reading the religious polemics in his family library, Wildgoose becomes an itinerant preacher, abandoning his estate and worthy mother in the company of the hearty cobbler Jerry Tugwell (Sancho Panza to this spiritual Quixote). CONDITION

Rebacked in calf with original boards preserved. Externally, sound, though with some slight wear to the original leather, and some light bumping. Hinges are strained. Pages have some foxing and handling marks throughout.
