DESCRIPTION

This first US edition of celebrated author Dick Francis' novel 'Blood Sport' was nominated for the Edgar Allan Poe Award in 1967. The novel follows Gene Hawkins, a government security agent, as he attempts to track down a hi-jacked thoroughbred stallion, discovering a good deal about himself as he journeys from the Thames to Las Vegas. Dick Francis was a RAF pilot during WW2, a successful steeplechase jockey, and crime writer, whose works deal with crimes in the horse-racing world, producing more than 40 best-sellers.

'Blood Sport' is brilliantly exciting in Francis' classic style, exploring the adventures of a new hero in able, tough, and intelligent Gene Hawkins.


CONDITION

In the publisher's original hardback binding, with stamped decoration to the front board, and unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, generally very smart, with only some handling marks to the boards and minor shelfwear to the head and tail of the spine and extremities.
