HOW TO GROW
“Sterling Silver” roses (Rosa “Sterling Silver”) are hybrid tea roses that flourish in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 6 through 9. In proper growing conditions, these fragrant roses produce large, double white blossoms tinted with pale lavender pink beginning in early summer and lasting until the first frost.

  1. Plant “Sterling Silver” roses in a location that receives full sun for at least six hours a day in slightly acidic soil that is well-draining and amended with compost.
  2. Water thoroughly immediately after planting, then once a week to a depth of 16 to 18 inches.
  3. Spread 1 to 3 inches of mulch around the rose bush after planting, taking care not to mound the mulch around the rose canes.
  4. Fertilize your roses with a complete granular rose fertilizer once leafs on the canes are about 4 inches long. Continue feeding on a regular basis during the growing season.
  5. Provide good air circulation to dissuade fungal diseases by pruning the rose plant back by a fourth at the end of the growing season. During the growing season, remove flowers as they fade and leave plenty of space between the rose bush and surrounding plants.
