WMF - Wurttembergische Metallwaren Fabrik (silverplate)
Founded in 1880 by the merger of two existing German companies, the WURTTEMBERGISCHE METALLWARENFABRIK was, around 1900, the world's largest producer and exporter of household metalware, mainly in the Jugendstil style. The metals used were mainly pewter with silver plating and copper, glass is also added to their items mostly in combination with the mentioned metals. Widely known by its initials, WMF, the company preferred to create its own designs and so the main production of the beautiful creations in Art Nouveau and Art Deco style are from their own Art studio
