Product Introduction

ENSURE YOU READ THE NOTE BELOW BEFORE BUYING THIS PRODUCT.

This Male-Male rubber bobbin mount has the following unusual selling features:

1.   It uses a “waisted” rubber body design driving increased deflection and therefore a lower natural frequency of the resulting system.  This in turn provides more effective vibration isolation.

2.   It uses a particularly high grade of natural rubber (military grade), which is better at vibration attenuation than lower grades of rubber - especially with age.  There are other benefits to this rubber too, however they are less relevant for this application.

3.   A longer and more complex bonding process than most competitor products, which offers a longer product life.  The rubber-metal bond is guaranteed for the life of the product.

This product is used in many automotive and industrial applications, and it is made in the UK.

We are ISO 9001:2015 certified by SGS, and we work to very high quality standards.

All dimensions in the drawing are in mm

This rubber element and the bond of this product is geared towards engineering performance.

NOTE: The steel threads can only withstand very low torques – 10nm max.  We recommend using a superglue or a locking nut to help lock nuts in place.  This product has been in use within the automotive industry for many decades, and as such has been cost engineered for the specific application.

Recommended Loading:

In compression, we would recommend the following load range for vibration related applications:

As a guide, these numbers should be halved for pure shear.  We do not recommend using these products in tension.

Vibration absorption performance:

These mounts will start to become effective with the following forcing frequencies:

As a guide, vibration performance of the product in compression at the following forcing frequencies is expected to be approximately:

This mount can be used in shock related applications but for notably lower loads than those quoted above.  If your application involves shock, we would recommend contacting us for assistance in ensuring that the correct product is specified.

Other important points:

1.   The data given describing the performance of this product are as precise as reasonably possible.  If your design intends to use this product towards its lower load or forcing frequency recommendations, we recommend testing before implementation.

2.   For mounts with a female thread, ensure that it is not penetrated beyond the depth of the female thread as this will negatively impact product performance.

3.   This product uses natural rubber which is not designed for regular exposure, oils or solvents.

4.   Optimum operating temperatures for natural rubber are -20° to +70°C.

5.   This product should not be used near flames.

6.   All of our products are both RoHS and REACH compliant.

7.   AVMR is a registered ISO 9001:2015 compliant company and is audited by SGS annually.
