From the archives of MC Lilley, this listing is for an antique steel etching block that was used to etching transfers for Life Membership glass paperweights for the Ladies oriental Shrine of North America.  The fine engraving on the steel block would be coated in wax and the design transferred to thin tissue paper.  The paper was applied to the blank glass paperweight prior to the application of acid which etched the glass portion Not protected by the wax.  The engraving is a positive image so it can be read easily.  The dimensions are approximately 2 ⅜” x 3 ⅞” x 2” high and it weighs 5 ½ lbs.  The condition is Excellent.  Please look at all the photos and ask any questions.  See my other listings.  Free shipping is included for USA buyers.
