You are looking at a brand new SS Exhaust Muffler for VIOT and Other brand vacuum Pumps of Selected Models to remove the oil droplets from the exhaust air.

Every rotary vane vacuum pump has an intendance to evaporate its own vacuum pump oil! If the pump is used in outdoor air, you may not feel the oil. But if you are using the vacuum pump in a closed space, the room may feel the "smoky" greasy air after operating the pump for a few hours. The faster the air passes through the pump, the more oil mist is likely to come out of the muffler. The higher the vacuum level, the lesser the flow. The faster the the oil evaporates, the greasier the air may become. For this reason, some manufactures come up with a big and expensive exhaust muffler to eliminate the oil from the air. We supply this muffler so the garden hose or tubing can be connect to the muffler and get the exhaust air conducted out of the room.

Fit this miffler to the exhaust port to replace the small black piece that came with the pump, thats it. fit 25 mm and 1 inch NPT on the pump.
Better still, sllide one a garden hose to the muffler ehaust and tighten it with a clamp. Run the other end of the hose to the outdoor or exhaust hood. The hose should be upright at the first few feet, so the condensed oil in the hose will be return to the pump. Please do not use too small tubing, or get the tubing clogged. Any back pressure to the exhaust may affect the performance of the vacuum pump.
