If looks made a sound, this guy would  r-o-a-r!
This rare, beautiful, warm dark brown, rabbit fur-covered, standing French antique automaton bear measures about, 9 1/2" long and almost 7 high, with original dark brown glass eyes, both ears, black molded nose, (small metal tail) original wire muzzle and chain. He has an opening and closing long moving mouth with tongue and teeth. His head also moves from side to side and each of his moving legs have their original, carved wooden black feet with claws although one paw is chipped. All functions seems to move when prodded although there is no key present to test how well they move. And due to the toy's age he requires a cleaning to function properly. He has areas of worn fur which would be normal for such a fantastic toy but don't affect his appearance.  Manufactured by the renowned French manufacturer, Roullet et Decamps of France, circa 1880-90, he is a much sought after item (dark brown version) and will make a great addition to an antique doll and toy collection. Not suitable for children. Other bears in last photos are NOT included. These marvelous wind-up bears rarely come up for sale and he is quite special.
