Presenting a superb vintage French crystal facetted cut ashtray masterfully handcrafted and signed by Val St Lambert as an advertising piece to promote Air India.
This sparkling clear crystal piece features a frosted Air India emblem acid etched to the base. The outer surface of the ashtray has a striking facetted cut creating bold angular faces which spectacularly reflects the light. A smoothly curved interior wonderfully contrasts the facetted exterior.
The thick quality crystal acts like a lens, magnificently magnifying and distorting the light to create striking optical effects.
The crystal has a stunning clarity and spectacularly reflects the light into rainbow prisms.
SIZE: This ashtray stands approx 55mms tall and measures 115mms in diameter.
CONDITION: This fabulous piece is presented in good vintage condition with just minor nibbles to the edge of the base and the tiniest fleabite to the inner edge of one of the cigarette rests. These are only noticeable on extremely close examination and are incredibly difficult to spot when the piece is displayed resting upon a surface. This piece presents very well.
MARKS: This piece is beautifully signed to the base with an engraved "Val St Lambert" mark.
