Black Skunk

The Skunk is commonly used to catch steelhead salmon in Alaska and Canada.

The origin of the Skunk pattern goes back about 70 years ago in southern Oregon's North Umpqua, or the Stillaguamish River in Washington.  Any fly that has been around for 70years is certainly worth a try.

It is a good pattern to use when water turns a little cloudy or when you just need more color.
