Swedish Girl, K34

Created circa 1936-40s, by Norah Wellings of England were a line of 8" tall, soft cloth stuffed, "Novelty", character dolls with velveteen bodies and cloth hands (individually stitched fingers) and velvet feet. This is model #K34, seldom found. She has a very pretty stockinet face with very delicate molded and painted features including big dark, side-glancing eyes, painted eyebrows, lovely cheek blush, long blonde hair with center part in braids and a swivel neck. She wears her national costume including a long, dark blue velveteen skirt & bodice, red felt vest with organdy puff sleeves and long apron with red and yellow felt trimmed panels and matching red felt headdress and is labeled on the sole of one black velveteen shoe: Made in England by Norah Wellings. She is a very seldom found model and in very good condition as shown with no fading or holes, no repairs and no odors (slight age related darkening to organdy) as she is from a smoke free home. She is shown and described on pages 70 & 71, "Norah Wellings Cloth Dolls and Soft Toys, Trotter.

Other dolls shown are not included and each listed separately.
