Not flimsy, not upholstery weight but somewhere in between we find this wonderful older piece of tailoring fabric. Silvermans was established in 1977 and shut down in 2000.So this fabric is from that era. I torched a piece of it and it gave off no acrid smell neither did it drip goo, just the smell of the metallic threads burning. I state Rayon to be on the safe side, but it could be silk? You will receive more than the title states.There is a 2" rent 6" into the one raw edge that was not included in the 3.5 yards, and there has been some fabric cut away at the other end that is not included in the 3.5 yards either. So what you will receive is the yardage plus salvage.I have no idea why the label says 3 yards, that is not how it measures up. This would make a very classy tuxedo jacket or opera coat.
