'Life and Death of John of Barneveld', complete in two volumes. Johan van Oldenbarnevelt was a Dutch statesman, known for his important role in the Dutch struggle for independence from Spain. Volume I illustrated with a frontispiece and one plate, Volume II illustrated with a frontispiece.

Motley was an American author, who is best known for his two histories.
CONDITION
In the original publisher's cloth binding. Externally, smart. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spines and to the extremities. A little fading to the spines. A few minor marks to the boards, marks heavier to 'Dutch Republic' Volume II. Light spots to the fore edges. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean with the odd spot, heavier to the first and last few pages.
