DESCRIPTION

This story of Piglet and the flood was subsequently published in Milne's first story collection featuring his beloved anthropomorphic characters; 'Winnie The Pooh'.  It was chapter nine of 'Winnie The Pooh'.

Undated, but it is believed this publication pre-dates the first printing of Milne's anthology.

Illustrated throughout, with the noted pen-and-ink drawings of Ernest H Shepard.  Shepard was a popular twentieth century illustrator whose recognisable pen and ink drawings were featured in all of Milne's works.

Signed by A.A Milne and E.H Shepard to the title page.

To the recto of front endpaper is written 'A Rescue of a Rescue' and the provenance note of this work, 'From the library of P.T.R. Gillette. Sold at Sothebys Feb 10th 1959'. Below this is written 'Not in the C.R Story Book'.

This work is titled 'The Rescue of Piglet, A New Story for Children by A.A. Milne'.

A fantastic, unique hand-compiled work.
