Eccentric, entertaining avant-gardish saxophonist from Detroit

He developed an early affinity for jazz and Motown-style R&B

Maslak played with Charles Moffett,

Philip Glass and Laurie Anderson

and became involved with free jazz

during the New York loft scene of the 1970s

In 1978 he moved to Europe

where he recorded several albums on the Waterland label
