Description

The Atlantic Coast Line Railroad (ACL) served the US Atlantic Coast and Southeast from Virginia to Florida, including the states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. It connected at Richmond with the Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac Railroad (RF&P), which pulled ACL passenger trains to/from Washington, DC; at Washington the trains connected with northeastern lines, where its primary connection was the Pennsylvania Railroad into New York and New England. The ACL and its connecting lines actively competed with the Seaboard Air Line (SAL)/Baltimore & Ohio partnership to run some of the most famous "Florida" trains. The ACL and SAL merged in 1967 to form the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad (SCL). The SCL, in turn, merged with the Chessie System in 1980 to form CSX Transportation, one of the two major eastern railroads.

For auction is a railroad pass from the ACL for the year 1958. It was issued to an officer of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railway. The pass, which measures appx 4 x 2 1/2 inches, is printed on thin linen stock. It is in excellent condition, with no rips, folds or tears. All writing/markings are from its issuance and usage .

A nice addition to someone's ACL collection. Shipped in a plastic hard-side collector's sleeve.
