** Финифть (Finift) jewelry and icons were hand painted in Rostov, Russia, Soviet Union (Now Russian Federation). The techniques used to create these were developed in the second half of the 17th century. The Russian word for enamel "finift" comes from the Greek "fingitis", which means "bright, shining stone". Enamel is a special type of applied art, in which the main material used is a glassy substance colored with the oxides of various metals. For example, gold fused with glass produces a ruby color, cobalt produces a dark blue, and copper produces green. Painting on enamel is fired in a kiln, at a temperature of about 800° C (1472° F). The enamel base melts, the paint sinks into it and is firmly fused with the base as it cools. To make it more long-lasting and enhance the decorative effect, the painting on the enamel is covered, also by firing, with transparent, fusible glass.

To return the item, please complete the following steps:
  • Contact us for RMA# and amount of restocking fee / shipping charge
  • Initiate return on eBay
  • Mail unused item (with tags attached, if applicable), preferably in original box/package; if you kept the item in a smoking place, it was accessible to pets, or has any odor, the return will be rejected
  • Include a check for 10% of item cost plus original shipping charge
  • You will receive full refund on your Paypal account
