I wish I knew more about this tablecloth and the design. I showed it to a Chinese friend who says that the characters depict a man, woman and house with happiness. The dragon is also a happy symbol.
The fabric is part or all artificial, needed to make the paint permanent. This means that the tablecloth and napkins have little body, though they are nice and thick.
The cloth is not white, but an ecru or very light tan color.
