For your consideration is an ORIGINAL old master engraving created in the year 1748. The print contains a combination of multiple masterfully illustrated biblical scenes. The old master print maker Johann Baptist Klauber ( 1712-1787, indicated at the foot of each plate) is the creator of these amazing Rococo style fine art bible images. He is one of the most renowned German old master print makers of the 18th century, who belong to the famous Klauber print makers. Their workshop is so often looked upon as an epitome of 18th century religious print art. Many of the Klauber's art pieces now rest in various fine art museums throughout Europe.

The particular print for sale is from a 1748 publication named "Historiae Biblicae Veteris et Novi Testamenti"  (The History of New and Old Testaments, so called "Klauber Bible".) The accompanying texts at the top and bottom of each page are written in Latin. They describe the various themes, iconography, landscape, and architecture appeared in the biblical description.

Dimensions of the plate are approximately 13 by 9 inches (33cm*23.3cm), on a folio-sized sheet of handmade, old laid paper with good margins all around. The paper has toned a little, and there is roughness on the left margin in the normal process of disbounding from the original book. There is no stain or foxing and the condition of the image is superb! There is a small professional repair done to the bottom right corner using professional archival paper (see the last of the product pictures). The image part remains sharp and clear. It is a well preserved old master print that deserve the attention of any serious fine art and religious-theme print collector!!!
