House of Lords papers in the appeal of King v Amery (1790)

These papers comprise the plaintiff's and the defendant's cases to the House of Lords on the question whether Thomas Amery was rightfully an alderman of the city of Chester.

The papers provide a fascinating insight into the formalities of litigation in the 1700s, as well as the language employed.

Page size: 43cm x 27cm

The case of the plaintiff is 15 pages

The case of the defendant is 13 pages.

I had all the pages in a single frame, with glass front and back, so that the frame could show the contents on both sides. The two sides showed the first pages of each of the plaintiff's and the defendant's cases,

Posted unfolded, in a large stiff and padded package.
