The J W Young River Specialist reel takes centrepin angling with float or feeder to a new level. Traditional Centrepin reels in general were made for the purpose of float fishing here in the UK, and ledgering baits can be difficult with a pin when fast or flooded waters are your chosen venue. With an adjustable tension click check the River specialist reel can be set to deal with fast or flooded water with a flick of a switch. Once the bait has been cast out the angler can engage the click check and increase or decrease the power of the check to stop the line peeling off in heavy water conditions, this also gives the angler a greater resistance when a bite occurs meaning more hooked fish and no over runs.

The J W Young River Specialist reel features a solid backplate design, Adjustable click check, 2 ball bearings, micro-adjustable disc drag and ivory style handles. The also reel features a polished rim for smooth line control, a beta light slot in the reel seat for night fishing and has been finished in a matt black colour to complement any rod it is fitted to.
