In the event of a slight loss of compression or power, it does not have to be a completely new cylinder. Most often it is the piston rings that have got too much impact due to natural wear.

Worn piston rings are clearly visible on the black burnt piston shirt front and back (so-called blow-by, past the rings). If after a few thousand kilometers the engine is open for maintenance, it is definitely recommended to buy new piston rings and continue to enjoy the cylinder set for a long time!

The new rings should be retracted for a short time, as they have to grind in first. Good oil, warm up and drive a few kilometers carefully enough!

Here: a piston ring! Two rings are required per piston!
