Multiple foldout black and white photograph plates in a mat finish, with protective tissues that are not attached to the text block; explanatory titles to plates appear as marginal notes beside the text. 358 pp.  In French.

 

The book documents exploration of the Orinoco and Amazon forests undertaken by the author and colleagues from 1948 to 1950, including encounters with indigenous tribes.
