Palm-shaped agave yucca aloe bares soft and elegant looking white flowers. The large roots can be chopped into clumps, pulverized and used as natural washing soap. The sapoins (soap compounds) offer a sudsy all-natural hand washing experience. The pulverized chunks can also be a soap additive as well as a stand-alone solution. The gentle cleansing properties are sure to please.

Aside from functionality, the plants and blooms themselves are a stunning sight. They make a great addition to tropical plant gardens and fit right as an accent to colorful succulent plants as well!

Soapweed is both cold-tolerant and heat-tolerant, offering itself to both hemispheres. Once fully matured, Yucca Glauca Aloe plants thrive in dryer soils, and even in rockery. It's best to keep watering light and plant them in a well drained area.

Germination instructions: Sow seeds 1/4 inch deep in the fall or right before winter and expect the seeds to germinate in spring at temperatures around 70 degrees. Otherwise, cold stratify the seeds any time of year (put them in moist paper towel and then in a ziploc that goes in the freezer) for 60 days. Once seeds have been in cold temperatures for this many days they will sprout once removed in staged 70 degree temperatures, shortly thereafter.
