DESCRIPTION

This work comprises a history and thorough catalogue of the historic arms of French nobility.

Undated; dated from copies on Jisc.

A scarce work.

From the library of Sarah Elizabeth Hay-Williams (1801-1876), an English artist and illustrator of botanical works, born to the first Earl Amherst and wife of Sir John Hay-Williams.

Bound preserving the original paper wraps.

Illustrated throughout, and with a full plate frontispiece illustration.


CONDITION

In a half crushed morocco binding. Externally generally smart; a few instances of rubbing to the tail of the spine and joints resulting in very slight loss to the leather. Ownership bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean bar the occasional spot.
