This is an original double weight photograph from 1934 of Frances Drake (1912-2000). She played leads in many Hollywood productions of the
'30s, often as the terrified heroine of horror and mystery
tales. She was best known for playing
Eponine in Les Misérables (1935). She made her film debut in Bolero (1934) opposite George Raft and Carole Lombard.
She was often typecast in "damsel in distress" roles and appeared in horror and sci-fi films opposite stars like Bela Lugosi, Boris Karloff; The Invisible Ray (1936), and Peter Lorre; Mad Love (1935).
