For sale is a good early federal coin silver tablespoon by John Vernon of New York City, ca 1768-1815.  The spoon is 9 inches long and weighs 60 grams.  It has a swaged pointed drop and a downturned rounded handle.  It is monogrammed “ILH” in block letters on the handle front.  It is marked [I.V] in a shield with an eagle head and a stylized “P” as shown.

Condition on the spoon is fairly good.  There is very minor tip wear, a wide shallow dent in the heel and normal wear from use.  A good coin silver spoon!
