Released in 1972, the movie "Clean Hands" is one of the most recognized cinematographic projects undertaken by film director Sergiu Nicolaescu and the gold standard used to judge all the other political/cop movies created to this day by the many successful Romanian film studios following in his footsteps.
The plot is centered on a pair of ambitious characters: an active political figure and an experienced detective willing to help. Both are driven by the noble goal of eliminating the rampant crime and corruption in the Romanian capital Bucharest in the immediate years following the end of the World War II.
Although both have started separately on their own paths, in the end there is obviously just a single way to go in order for both of them to succeed: close collaboration and sharing of information.
