The special velvet ensures that the surface of the record is cleaned across the board, dust particles are completely removed. The carbon brush prevents static charging of the record. This minimizes crackling and cracking noises and prevents the record from getting dusty. Only if the LP is free of dust can the pick-up system scan the record without noise and distortion.
