A superb and rare photo, made from what we believe is the original negative, of the famous Guido Mandracci on the factory Moto Guzzi V7 Sport Telaio Rosso or V7 Sport red frame – red chassis during the Imola 200 miles race on the circuit of Imola in 1972.

The Moto Guzzi V7 Sport was introduced in 1971. It was a magnificent motorcycle, which once was the fastest production motorcycle in the world. During its production run it knew a lot of racing successes with both the regular black frame as the earlier red frame versions. Guido Mandracci was one of the Moto Guzzi factory ’s most famous and successful riders that campaigned the factory’s V7 Sport racing machines. The V7 Sport racing machines can be seen as the predecessor of the famous Moto Guzzi Le Mans sport models.

The Imola 200 miles race was a season’s classic. Due to technical difficulties Mandracci finished 11th. The photo shows the Lockheed disc brakes, for practice Fontana drum brakes were used. The photo shows nicely the superbly crafted streamlining and other details of this magnificent factory V7 Sport.

This is a very nice and very rare non period photo that reflects a wonderful and very historic era of Moto Guzzi ‘s V7 Sport history in a wonderful way. This is your rare chance to own this photo, therefore it is printed in a nice large format of ca. 7.9" x 11.5" (ca. 20 x 29.2 cm). It makes it perfectly suitable for framing!
