PROMOTION CARD-1998 COMIC IMAGES POISON ELVES TRADING CARD PROMO CARD     

Some collectors are specially collecting PROMOTION card as it is a very effective way of collecting many different card series at minimum cost. 

The Promotion cards were largely produced since early 1990s and continued about almost 20 years. Some of the promo cards were handed out by manufactuers, while some of the promo cards were inserted into the released different cards series packs and essentially a chase card ratio ( these promo cards tend to be hard to find).  When online trading became the dominant force, the promotion card release ahead of the official card series embargo turn out to be pointless. To some extent, Promo card collection itself is reflecting part of the evolution of trading cards in the past 30 odds years.
