Being offered on this auction is
porcelain soup cup saucer or side plate made by Porcelaine Lafarge factory
in Limoges, France.
This pattern is called ‘Or Et Platine’ (Gold and Platinum). It has
encrusted gothic scrolls and dots on gold and platinum band. White center
is outlined with thin gold band. There are two genuine Limoges
marks on the backside. The maker's mark is under the glaze and impressed
into the porcelain. This mark was originally uses by Boyer Limoges
Porcelains (Lafarge apparently reopened their factory). The decorator’s is
over the glaze. This is a gold oval with script ‘Porcelaine D’Art Limoges
France Chateau De Gruau’. We can’t identify the studio using this mark.
This is production of c. 1970.
Dish measures about 7” in diameter.
Condition is good with no cracks or chips found. Colors are bright and
vibrant. Gold and platinum have minor wear. Please take a look at the
