Soldier's cap of the USSR with a star.
The history of the cap dates back to World War I, as part of the equipment of pilots, that is formed from the word pilot. In the land units the cap came in the 30s, as the headwear of the German Wehrmacht. And before the Great Patriotic War it replaced the cap in the Soviet army. In the Soviet Union everybody, from soldiers to officers, wore caps. Officers' caps were different colored edging indicating belonging to a certain kind of troops. Officers wore caps with cockade or part of cockade and soldiers - with a star. Both men and women wore them in the USSR Armed Forces.
