Overheating with the risk of jamming or fouling of the spark plug are frequent problems with the correct choice of spark plug. Spark plugs are available with different heat ratings (shown as a figure code and the differ from one manufacturer to another), materials (e.g. copper, silver, platinum) as well as in some standard unit sizes (which differ in length, diameter and thread). Interference suppressed plugs are a good idea with non-interference suppressed plug sockets: the radio frequencies of cell phones, radios, etc. are not affected. They are not recommended with weak ignitions, however. Cooler spark plugs are suitable for racing cylinders and long distance use. In this context, the thermal sound output of the heat at the cylinder head takes place, there is a risk of soot, however. Hotter spark plugs are used in sport and standard cylinders. The reach their operating temperature quickly, but can also overheat. Most scooter spark plugs have a SW M14x1.25 20.8 thread and are either long thread (19mm) or short thread (12.7mm). Fast operating temperature, constant performance, optimal reaction during varying driving conditions, such as city driving, and last but not least fuel economy are their advantage. The copper core of the central electrode conducts heat well and protects against thermal overload. Nickel-chromium alloy protects the copper core against corrosion and ensures high level of protection against wear and spark erosion.
