I sent a photo to the Staffordshire company asking 1: If it was real because of the slight misprint in the arcs within the circle on the logo, and 2: If it was theirs, what information could they give me.
The answer is that it was real though the correspondent did not recognize it and that it was a commission.
I have seen 2 other boxes like this without the inkwell insert. There is a stamp containers to match, but I don't have one to add to this.
This was a very limited commission, most likely for a group of navel men or serious sailors not in the armed forces.
