A small 3 1/8" tall oval-shaped clear-glass antique J R WATKINS unique shaped pill bottle. DO NOT let the screw top on this bottle fool you, this is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE blown-glass bottle dating back to the early 1900's, a good CENTURY OLD +.

Bottle embossed: "THE J.R. WATKINS / COMPANY - WINONA / MINN. U.S.A."
Cap embossed: "WATKIN'S".
Condition: Bottle is in nice clean condition. It has some age wear and patina, NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. Tin cap is corroded but not rusted through and it works fine! PLEASE see pictures to get overall idea of bottle's appearance.
Age: An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE blown-glass (ABM) bottle with a screw-top, ca early 1900's.

These little oval shaped hand blown pill bottles are always popular among collectors. They were made in this shape so they could easily fit into a pocket or purse but as time when on, they were eventually replaced with tin containers and eventually paper tubes, much like Tums or Rolaids come in today. Like Tums and Rolaids, these were Digestive Tablets for treating heart burn, upset stomach, etc. An uncommon bottle to find, some of the Watkins collectors aren't even aware of this one as they are becoming that hard to find. Then too it has the (corroded) tin cap. Most of these bottles did not survive with tin cap intact as it was the fist thing to rust out and fall apart, as this one was doing. A clean example of this much sought after little bottle, check it out!
