The third feature film by new generation director Teng Huatao, The Matrimony unfolds an eerie love story set in 1930s Shanghai. Rich young man Junchu (Leon Lai) cannot pluck up his courage to propose to his broadcaster girlfriend Manli (Fan Bingbing), who dies in a traffic accident before becoming his wife. In deep regret, Junchu locks himself up in his creepy old mansion. His mother marries him to a young woman Sansan (Rene Liu), hoping to alleviate his grief but with little success. To their surprise, Manli's ghost still lingers in the house, and even possesses Sansan's body in order to have a taste of being Junchu's wife...

Synopsis :

Waking up on day, Jenny finds herself no longer love his lover - Jordan, a ringleader of the black society. She then takes his large sum of money and escapes to Okinawa. The money turns out to be the ransom with which Jodan is going to give the big thief Tang Jie to exchange for his 'bad history'. Law Hongda, a policeman in the criminal department travels to Okinawa together with his girl friend. They recognize Tang Jie, the wanted criminal who escapes to Japan for hiding. Law attempts to rub a bank together with Tang Jie and then arrest him. But when Law and Tang meet with Jenny, both of them are attracted to her...
