For sale are four rare matching framed 19th century American silhouette portraits with original deep well chestnut wooden frame true to the period. The family is composed of father, mother, and two sisters. The father in the image wears a top hat, a popular fashion style during the Victorian era. The mother and daughters appearance is also consistent with the period.

Each frame measures approximately 4.25” by 3.5” and 1.5” deep. The hanging staple on the top of the frame is original and in good condition for two of the frames and are replaced with eye hooks for the other two (see the last photo for detail). The frames use old irregular or square head nails to join the corners. See photos for details. The back paper is in good and clean shape. Please check all photos for detailed condition.

Overall, a rare-to-find true matching family of early American silhouette art in well preserved condition.
