Offered by Over The Blue Horizon is a SUPERB copy of “INRO AND NETSUKE: TOKYO NATIONAL MUSEUM.”

This difficult-to-obtain reference work presents all the inro and netsuke at the Tokyo National Museum. The museum’s collection of inro and netsuke is numerically modest (108 inro and 565 netsuke) but, as can be imagined, is wonderfully diverse.  All these inro and netsuke are presented in this book in a very straightforward manner by acquisition number with individual photographs. Each photograph is accompanied with a text description in both Japanese and English.  Here's an example of an English text description: “Ivory Netsuke, Scene From the Noh Play TAKASAGO, Meiji Period, 19th Century, Gift of Mr. Go Seinosuke”.  Although the book is largely presented in Japanese, as previously described, each of the photographs has an English translation, and the book also offers an English preface.

This 250 page, 725 x 10 inch hardcover with dust jacket was published by Mogensha Publishing in 2001; condition is VERY GOOD bordering on LIKE NEW with light shelf wear to the dust jacket.
