This is a vintage parade or ceremonial cane from the American Legion Convention held in Reading, Pa on August 17th, 1940. Under the fringe is a paper label with that information handwritten on it. The cane is wood & measures 27-1/2" long. The shaft is painted royal blue. The wood knob at the top is marbled & swirled in many colors. It has gold fringe around the neck, under the knob & two hanging tassels. A cord criss crosses down the shaft & tucks inside a metal end cap. It is in very good, vintage condition. There are a few small nicks in the blue painted shaft. The marbled head has chips, shown in the photos. Fringe, cord, tassels, paper label & metal end cap are all intact & damage free. What a cool piece of history!
