If the item comes straight from the manufacturer it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as an unprinted box or plastic bag.

This does not mean that the packaging is cheaper exactly the opposite  ( DOUBLE  packaging is applicable) it is more expensive for manufacturers  for packaging items which is not reflected in standard listing in general DSR ratings
