Pure Phase is the second installment in Fat Possum's four-part "The Spaceman Reissue Program".
THIS: Special limited edition reissue pressed on 180 gram glow-in-the-dark vinyl (faintly greenish milky clear) and housed in a glossy gatefold sleeve with heavyweight custom inner sleeves. Issued factory sealed with hype sticker.
On the reissue artwork:
Front cover features a new photograph, by John Ross, of the "original luminous album packaging" (1995 glow-in-the-dark CD case) designed by J.Spaceman, Blue Source and Carol Kemp. Gatefold interior and inner sleeves feature scans of photographs, by Kevin Westenberg, that were printed in 1995 and have since decayed (artist miscredited as "Kevin Westerberg" on release).
Runouts are stamped, except for the hand-etched "BAZZA ALCHEMY" lacquer cutting signature on side A, and the second appearance of the Fat Possum catalog number in each runout (hand-etched "FP1752-1 X1"). All stamped text is inverted relative to the hand-etched text.
